Fortnite: Battle Royale Update 8.01 Patch Notes

Epic Games has released another update that brings something that had been teased and fits in nicely with the season’s pirate theme. Patch 8.01 is out now, and its primary addition is the new Buried Treasure item. Here’s how that works and everything else that’s new in today’s update, including a vaulted item and new Limited-Time Mode–just don’t expect any respawns. As detailed in the patch notes for update 8.01, the game now lets you track down treasure. Buried Treasure specifically refers to a Legendary-tier item that takes the form of a map; players use it to uncover loot hidden across the island. Players can only hold one map at a time…

Fortnite’s 2018 Valentine’s Day, but 2019 is here and the game has taken a dark turn

Fortnite’s 2018 Valentine’s Day, but 2019 is here and the game has taken a dark turn. There are a ton of Valentine’s Day skins coming our way, but one of the most interesting has to be the Love Ranger’s counterpart, the Fallen Ranger: we remember that in Fortnite, evil usually translates to “sort of purple”. Such is the case with the Fallen Ranger, who is indeed the cherubic Love Ranger except sort of purple.     It’s slick, most certainly. The horns are a nice way to make it a little less like a complete re-skin. And while we’ve had plenty of back bling wings between last Valentine’s Day and now, this represents…

incredible rise of Apex Legends has led some to believe that Fortnite may be dying out

But there’s a new contender in town. Apex Legends from Respawn Entertainment has quickly taken off since making its debut earlier this month. It attracted 25 million downloads in just one week, making it much more popular than Fortnite at launch. But should Epic Games be worried? Probably not … yet. Fortnite breaks more records Epic confirmed this week that Fortnite broke two new records for concurrent player count this month. A whopping 10.7 million players showed up to enjoy an in-game Marshmello concert on February 2, making it the biggest Fortnite event so far.   On Saturday, February 16, when cracks started appearing on the Battle Royale map ahead of season eight, Fortnite enjoyed its best “non-event day” yet, with 7.6 million concurrent players.…

13 Overtime challenges and you’ll have yourself a free battle pass for Season 8

If you’re new here, a supply drop is a blue crate that drops out of the sky attached to a yellow balloon: you can see one in the header image. They’re marked by a blue flare on the ground where they’re going to land, so if you see that flare just look up and the supply drop should be overhead. When they hit the ground you can open them up for all sorts of higher-tier goodies as well as a nice infusion of ammo and building materials. Supply Drops always come down inside the circle, so it’s better to search near the center of the playable area if you want…

Epic Games confirmed the new content coming to the game in April

We appreciate everyone who’s played and supported the game so far, and our philosophy is to do everything we can to show that to our players.” But it’s not just given backers their money’s worth, as Epic Games have also confirmed that they are not releasing the game until it’s closer to being finished. “We still have a lot of features to add before the PvE campaign is complete. We will launch the Save the World PvE campaign for free in 2018,” the official Epic Games site explains.   So the recent developer roadmaps are probably one of the best places to check when we might see an update, or…

this Fortnite final shooting gallery is a range-based

So yes, this final shooting gallery is a range-based one, and you are probably going to want to bring something with a scope in order to get this done. Remember, you can do these in Playground mode, which should make getting the right weapon and heading over there easier. My six-shooter was not able to get the job done for me here: Multiple targets will go up at a time and you’ll have to hit at least five of them total to complete the last stage of this challenge. A sniper might seem like the obvious pick here, but with how long reload time can be, I’m not so sure,…

Criminals are executing carding fraud and getting money in and out of the Fortnite system

The discounted V-Bucks may be found for sale on social media platforms such as Instagram and Twitter, but most of the money laundering happens on the dark web, which is a part of the internet that may only be accessed through special software. This is where a lot of illegal activity takes place, and apparently, money laundering through Fortnite‘s V-Bucks is now part of the list. Sixgill agents discovered the money laundering operation by pretending to be interested customers who are looking to unlock Fortnite items on the cheap.   “Criminals are executing carding fraud and getting money in and out of the Fortnitesystem with relative impunity,” Sixgill senior intelligence analyst Benjamin Preminger…

most folks are focused on Battle Royale and not the other mode found in Fortnite

Nearly everywhere I look I see kids doing Fornite dances, ads for the game, people streaming the game and even Halloween costumes. But it also seems like most folks are focused on Battle Royale and not the other mode found in Fortnite, Save The World. Which I think is a shame. Save The World is really good and I think more people should play it. The basic narrative setup of Save The World is that a giant supernatural storm has wiped out most life on Earth, leaving few human survivors and millions of deadly enemies called Husks. It is now up to players to help save these desperate survivors, destroy the Husks and end the storm. Save The World spreads its…

V-Bucks generators” are one of the biggest online Fortnite scams

Fortnite‘s incredible popularity among kids has made it an easy target for rip-off artists trying to make some actual bucks while the game is hot. A recent study from online security company ZeroFox discovered more than 4,700 fake Fortnite websites, and the company sent out more than 50,000 security alerts about Fortnite scams in a single month. Kids are particularly vulnerable to requests to turn over personal information, including names and email addresses or even credit card numbers. Here’s how you can spot the scam and protect your kids. What to watch out for V-Bucks generators. “V-Bucks generators” are one of the biggest online Fortnite scams. These are often websites that offer people points for watching or clicking on…
